These pieces focus on first year fundamentals with an emphasis on rhythm, tone, togetherness and the development of rudimentary technique. 
Beginning band pieces are separated into series. The series presented here follow these parameters:

Series A:
Winds: First six notes (Bb-G), Quarter notes and rests
Percussion: Eighth Note passages, no rudiments

Series B:
Winds: Adds Concert A, half notes and slurs between 2 quarters, key signatures
Percussion: Adds flams and flam taps

Series C:
Winds: Adds Low Concert G, whole notes and 4 beat slurs
Percussion: Adds drags
