Beginning Band Series A
 
Flame Falls Fanfare is a fanfare for beginning band is inspired by the eternal flame falls located in Chestnut Ridge Park in western New York. A small grotto at the base of the waterfalls emits natural gas, allowing for a natural eternal flame to be lit. The concept of an eternal flame has fascinated me for years- I view it as a symbol of the enduring spirit within us all.
 
This piece has been carefully constructed to give every beginning band student the opportunity to experience the thrill of the fanfare. From big, marked accents to light staccatos and a more legato section beginning at C, there are endless teachable moments throughout- all while laying easily on the fingers and allowing your ensemble to work on quarter note rhythms and rests together. With a duration less than two minutes, I'm certain this piece will make a thrilling opener for your first concert!
